It's been a while. Not much has been going on lately. I'm just trying to finish up school. I can't believe how this semester has flown by. There's only 2 weeks until finals and then I am done! Well with my undergrad at least..then it's off to grad school to do what I really want to do.

Travis and I went to my parents house for Thanksgiving. The food was great and I got to play with my little cousins. My aunt taught Ethan this... he's 3. haha



He is too cute! I wish they didn't live so far away so I could see them more often. They absolutely adore Travis.

On Saturday we went back to my parents house to hang out with my brother, his fiance and a few of Allan's friend from Teen Challenge. We ate some pizza and played rock band and Battle of the Sexes. My mom even got into rock band and sang some. haha it was no surprise she didn't know any of the songs. We had a good time even though the boys ended up winning Battle of the Sexes because they got a wild card that told them to go to the end! haha but it was fun.

Well I've got to go eat and get ready for work!

Pulling an All-nighter

Friday night Travis and I went with our youthgroup to an all-night event called the Word of Life Superbowl. I've been a bunch of times with my old youth group but this was my first time being a leader. We each had a group, I had 6 girls and Travis had 7 boys and Travis drove one of the vans. First we went to see the Manchester Monarchs hockey game. It was fun but they ended up losing by 1 in a shoot-out. After all the youth groups stayed in the arena while everyone else left. They had a short message and then played some games where the kids could win prizes. A lot of the kids in our group got up after the message to talk to counselors about salvation and a few filled out a form that said they had accepted Christ. After that we went to an indoor sports complex around 1am. There were some blow-up games and also football, soccer, and dogeball. We also got free pizza. At 3am we left for bowling and stayed there until 6am. It was a looong night but it was still fun. When we got home we slept until about 12ish and then forced ourselves to get up so we would sleep that night. We must have been more tired than we thought because neither of us woke up to the alarm this morning and ended up missing church! We ended up going on a boat ride with my dad. It was freezing!! We only saw one other boat on the lake while we were out there so that was cool. We are going to get on the webcam soon so we can talk to our niece Riley.

On thursday I got to take the kids to see the Wiggles! They were all so excited! I was pleasantly surprised at how good they were. Vincent (he's 5 and has Angleman's) doesn't do well with crowds so he had a small meltdown when we got inside but his mom was able to calm him down and we made it to our seats without much trouble. When the music started and the lights went down Vin started to cry! He was a little scared and it was so sad! But once the Wiggles came out he got excited and didn't cry the rest of the time! It was so cute to see all the kids dancing and singing. Friday I got to see the kids in their costumes before they went out with their dad trick-or-treating. Vin was spiderman, Madison was a pink flamingo, and Jack was the cutest penguin!

Travis and I just went out to dinner on Halloween. We went to the 99 since its one of our favorites and we hadn't been there in a while. I started off with the chicken and corn chowder and it was delicious! We both ordered steak tips and chicken fingers and I have to say I wasn't too impressed.

In other news...I think I have caught the baby bug! haha now I know now is not a good time since I'm still in school and we don't make that much money. I just keep hearing about people getting pregnant and I just can't wait to be a mom! I really didn't think I would want it this much already but since I've been married (and know it could realistically happen anytime) it's been on my mind. Plus my FIL keeps asking us when we are going to have a cousin for Riley to play with! He also bet that we would be pregnant 2 months after we got married but thankfully we made it past that! I guess we will just have to wait until God decides it's the right time.

October has just flown by for me! Classes are still going pretty good although most days i really just don't want to get out of bed. I've been fighting off a cold(possible allergies too) for a few days and have been having really bad headaches on the left side of my head. Thankfully I feel much better today. :) I definitely need lots of energy working with kids!

Oops! I just realized the time and I need to get to work! I'll write more later!

Me and Travis are staying at my parent's house this weekend while they are in Martinsville for a NASCAR race with my sister. They have a scanner so I finally got to scan some of the wedding picture proofs and get them online. We get a cd of all the pictures but not until after we get the album and all the real pictures so that could be a while.

This week I got to go to a pumpkin farm with the kids I nanny for. The family I work for is friends with the owners. They had this HUGE pumkin launcher thing. 2 years ago they had the record for the longest launch but lost it last year. They are competing again this year so they've been practicing. We got to see 2 launches and I couldn't believe how high and far the pumpkin went! It looked like a little dot in the sky! The 2 older kids were excited but Jack(he's 2) was a little scared.

I think I have senioritis. This is my last undergrad semester and I am so ready for it to be over. It sucks majoring in something that I'm not really interested in and just trying to get a degree so I can get into grad school. It will be over soon though and I just hope I can keep my grades up and not get too distracted!

Where has the week gone?

After getting some much needed rest on sunday, Travis and I went over to Scott and Danielle's house and got ready for a boat ride. We went up to the lake and it was so cold! We were all bundled up but it was a nice ride. We went by Bob Bear's huge house on the water. He was(?) the owner of the loudon racetrack and his house is gorgeous and right on the water! Travis took a few pictures on his phone so i'll put them up soon.

This week has gone by really fast. Classes are going pretty well. I got a B in my other test in Behavior and I really didn't study all that much. On wednesday I got up early for my 8am class and went all the way to UNH only to find it was cancelled! It's a 3 hour class too so I had 3 hours to waste. I ended up going to the library and just surfed the internet for a while.

Work has been pretty good lately. The kids have actually been pretty calm for the most part. Dinner and bathtime can still be a challenge and I usually end up looking like I was the one in the bathtub! But they are still doing well overall. Speaking of work it's about time for me to go!

Grades and Girls night

I got my test back in D&B and got a B just like I thought. I actually did much better than I thought on the essay! I think I will do better on the next tests since I know what kinds of questions will be on them. The first test is usually the hardest with a new teacher.

Friday I had to get an oil change and get my car inspected. I was in plaistow so I stopped at my parents house to pick up some mail and our wedding picture proofs! I was so excited to see all the pictures! We have to pick out one to go on our thank you cards and it was so hard but we've narrowed it down to 2.

Tonight I picked up my friend Megan from Kohls and we went down to quincy to meet Alyson and Erin at Erin's apartment. We went to Applebees and got some food and drinks. I haven't seen them since the wedding so it was so nice to hang out and laugh with them. After we got some ice cream from Friendly's! So good! We brought the ice cream back to Erin's and looked through all the wedding proofs. There are some great candids of people dancing!

Right now I'm just waiting for Travis to get home from Scott's house so we can go to bed! I'm so tired but I know if I fall asleep I'll probabaly freak out when I hear him walk in!

catching up

Friday night and saturday Travis and I went to Amherst for Acquire the Fire with the youth group from our church. We've wanted to get involved with the youth for a while but this was our first event. It was a little awkward since we only know the youth pastor Mike and we don't even know him all that well yet. It was a good time though. We got to see Kutless which was awesome! The speakers were good too. On saturday they had people write something down on paper that they wanted to get rid of in their life and then nail it to wooden crosses. It was really cool to see so many people get up and participate. Compassion was there and Travis and I decided to sponser another child! We already have one little girl from Kenya named Grace. Now we have a little boy from Thailand named Peter. We recently got a letter from grace that had pictures she drew on it. It was so cute!

We didn't get much sleep friday or saturday night. I was so tired at church on sunday! I had to study for an exam after and I read through about half my notes and then fell asleep! Luckily Travis only let me sleep for an hour or so and then I did some more studying. I was nervous for my test (in Drugs and Behavior) because I had heard the tests were really hard. I was mostly worried about the essay since I had no idea what it was going to be. I spent so much time studying my notes that I forgot to go over the article we had to read and of course that's what the essay was on! I remembered enough to at least get a paragraph out but I don't think I wrote or explained enough. I think I actually did pretty good on the rest of the test though so I'm guessing I got a B. I have a test in Behavior Analysis on wednesday but I'm really not worried about that one.

New Blog!

It's been a long day! I got up at 5:30 and got ready for school. Then I drove an hour to UNH for 3 classes from 8-1:30. I have health psych, behavior analysis, and drugs and behavior. Then I drive an hour to work where I nanny for 3 kids. 2 of them have Angelman's syndrome(a genetic disorder). They are sweet kids but a LOT of work! They definitly wear me out but at least I sleep good at night! I hope to keep up with this blogging thing but we will see how much I actually write.
